I’m teaching this workshop next week for Stroudwater Textile Trust. We will be using my Body-Tensioned looms which incorporate a Rigid Heddle for ease of weaving. There are just 2 places left so secure yours! Book via their website.

Weaving Day. A follow-up to our taster session in January, Rebecca Connolly offers an all-day workshop covering the key skills for successful weaving. Once again at France Lynch Church Rooms, you will learn how to design a warp, set up a loom, weave different patterns and experiment with different types of wool. A limit of 8 students ensures plenty of individual help; all materials provided, plus the use of an 8-inch-wide loom for each participant. Cost £60 (£55 for STT Members); tea/coffee provided but please bring a packed lunch.

Cornish holiday 2026 weave.
I get to indulge my weaving whims during my annual holiday week each year. Nothing complicated so I can dip in sporadically. This year it was weaving chunkier than my usual 4-ply British wools and using 100g of Irish Donegal wool in each of 3 colours which had been in my stash for years.
I borrowed a 24” wide 5dpi Rigid Heddle from my wool buddy and designed a tartan which used exactly the same amount of each colour.
By the time I finished weaving the 2.5m warp I had exhausted the original yarns so managed to also use up other lovely odds and ends in the same colour palette including precious yarns hand-spun by friends.
Decided to escape my hot studio and work from home, so an opportunity to complete the project.

Wedding Ring Cushion. This piece was the culmination of a wonderful commission to design fabric for the Groom’s outfit in the plaid which forms his ‘branding’ as a professional musician. I made it from a scrap of the leftover fabric as a Wedding Gift.
