Poppy May Crochet was launched after the birth of my daughter & my love of crochet. I have always loved crafting, many years have been spent cross stitching, quilting & hand sewing, but then i tried crochet just a little over 2 and a half years ago. At the time I had a small baby, planning a wedding & worked full time, so my new hobby took a back seat until i was pregnant for my third baby. Being
creative i decided that my new baby had to have something i had made so i got out my hook & wool that i had bought previously. Reminded myself of the basic stitches with a book & you tube - i was hooked (excuse the pun!!)
I went to my local yarn store & bought some more yarn, started a blanket for my new baby. My first blanket took me four weeks to complete, i posted a pic on facebook & started something else. Little did i know that i started to get asked to make things for friends & family. I went into a local craft shop Crafty Mums in Colchester in October 2013 selling all my makes in the baby & child section & im still there. I'm now a contributor for a popular crochet brand - Frank&Olive Crochet - i was picked for my talent out of 100 people. I have a huge passion for crochet & i love to create items that i know will be loved for years to come. oh and that blanket i made is now loved by my toddler as i thought my baby would be a boy but she was a girl :) xx
