✖️Welcome to the GONZO family✖️
Welkom Sander Van Eck! One of The Netherlands finest imports! In his short time on the North Coast, Sander has become very well known in the community through his passion for surfing, creating custom boards & repairs and many other projects he has ongoing. Delighted to add another genuine dude to the Gonzo Team!
Here’s a bit more about Sander in his own words;
“My name is Sander, 23 and I’m from the Netherlands. I probably have one of the worst cases of FOMO, that might explain why I would travel 3 hours to surf 2ft onshore waves back in the Netherlands.”
“Luckily I found myself here a couple years ago doing a placement at Skunkworks Surf Co. At that time I fell in love with the place and my girlfriend Jess. Since then I’ve spent a lot of time here on and off.. but mostly on. Now I am living in Portrush and I repair and make surfboards!”
“I love the North Coast because of it’s unmatched scenery and its waves. In the water it is mostly always familiar faces especially in the winter time when the waves turn on. Searching for waves and seeing these familiar faces doing the same, turning up early in the morning to put on a wetsuit that has ice on it to get some pumping surf in howling offshore winds, that is what it’s all about”
“I joined Gonzo because it is straight forward; Local surfers having fun on our rugged coast. Simple, but a lot to it.”
