Stitching 4 All Show, at Westpoint, Exeter begins this Thursday!

Places are still available for the Welt Pocket Mini Masterclass in the afternoons every day at the show.

The functional and stylish welt pocket is found in coat, jacket, gilet, waistcoat and trouser designs. If the thought of sewing one of these pockets makes you shy away from patterns that feature them, then having a practice at the show will help you take that step to master the cut-in 'letterbox' method of the welt pocket.

It doesn't have to be perfect, but having a go will give you an 'experience' of them for the next design you may make!

🧵The Jeans Zip
Sewing a jeans zip is a little different in construction from a regular fly zip and it is a great technique to add to your sewing skills. Samples will be made in Cream Drill or Denim to give you a feel for working with heavier fabrics, zips and threads.
◦ Mini Masterclass is for 2 hours.
◦ Every morning at 10.30 am
◦ Cost £20.00

🧵The Welt Pocket
Welt pockets are found in all types of clothing and its 'cut-in' construction is part of the family of pockets that includes Flap Pockets, Bound/Jet Pockets and Zip Pockets. This technique will give you a grounding to try these types of pockets in your next dressmaking project.
