We spotted a snake at Fineshade Wood - Forestry England this morning, it slithered away too quickly to get a photo. It was in the middle of the path and quickly disappeared into the long grass.

Fineshade Wood really is a wildlife haven!

If you are lucky enough to spot an Adder when you are visiting us, please don't disturb them, pick them up or move them. They are a protected species and are not naturally aggressive, however they are venomous.

Most bites happen when a snake is disturbed and it tries to defend itself. An adder bite is very unlikely to be deadly to a human but it can make you feel very unwell and you should seek medical attention straight away. Dogs that are bitten should be taken to a vet immediately.

Adders are an important part of the forest ecosystem. To help protect this declining species we ask that everyone keep to the official trails when visiting us - adders are well camouflaged so it's easy to disturb them when we can't see where they are.

Does anyone have the Joie I-spin COMPACT version? I have the old style 360 (not i-spin) and wondered how they compare. I’m worried it would be too small as children grow but the 360 I have is very wide so being more compact would help it to spin easier.

I’ve just seen a post about a new soft play opening but the article was under a paywall. A quick google and found Little Nasa Corby, a new play cafe opening in the former Salvation Army building.

Container Syndrome is a term used to describe the lack of skill in infants who are not allowed ample movement opportunities. Container Baby Syndrome is the result of an infant being placed in a container for an excessive amount of time during the day. This extended time leads to structural, movement, and behavioral challenges as a result.

Ticket-only free events for children in school years 3,4,5 & 6 take place on Tuesday 18 August at Beanfield Community Centre

Children in those years are invited to collect tickets from the community centre on a first-come first-allocated basis to either a VR session or Silent Disco, with the times confirmed on the tickets.

Tickets are supplied by Corby Town Council and are allocated by Beanfield Community Centre. Appropriate adult supervision will be provided throughout the session. Children with a free ticket only will be able to take part as numbers and equipment are limited. Free drink and snacks supplied.

I am qualified to level six with a BA in working with early years children and their families. We are a busy setting, we are out in the community every day whether that is visiting parks or woodland, going to Totscise Babycise, Rhyme Time, having Babychinos at Costa or attending playgroups.
