For me, taking the “think global, act local” approach is an integral part of my small business. I am passionate about the environment, natural landscape, and all the amazing wild flora and fauna within it that make up an incredibly diverse ecosystem. Instinctively, I combine my love of science and the natural world with the art I create and am committed to making products using ethically sourced a
nd sustainable materials. I am a British born artist and creating art has always been a major part of my life since early childhood. I love experimenting with different materials and my background in art includes many years of studying photography; both analogue and digital, drawing and painting. Working with textiles has now become my primary focus and I feel that I have finally arrived at my destination. At Primary School, I learned cross stitch and in Secondary, I was lucky enough to take sewing for a term. It was taking these classes that ignited my interest in studying to becoming a Fashion Designer after leaving school, but unfortunately, the opportunity wasn’t there at the time. Several years later, when my husband and I moved to New York for business, the opportunity to study art became a realization, and in 2006, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the State University of New York at Purchase College. After living in New York for 20 years, we decided to relocate our young family back to our native UK in 2020 and are happily settled in North Wales, enjoying the spectacular views of the Berwyn and Snowdonia Mountains. All the repurposed and upcycled fabrics I use in my products are laundered thoroughly and air-dried in the beautiful Welsh countryside.
