All good things must come to an end. Following travel to London and an intense judging process (including a trade stand and presentation) Never Lace unfortunately will not be continuing in the Young Enterprise programme. The competition was certainly tough and without a doubt each and every single company present deserved to be there - the hard work and commitment was evident from day one 👊🏻👊🏻

The entire team at Never Lace are extremely happy with the achievement we had by making it to the U.K Finals, it was truly an honour to stand among so many enterprising businesses. This was the first time in Lismore's history that a Young Enterprise company made it to London and we are very proud that it was us 💚💙

However it was not all doom and gloom, we met many influential entrepreneurs, spoke to students, link teachers and business advisors from across the U.K and finally had the opportunity to promote our business even further! The trip itself was wonderful as well. The weather was beaming and hit degrees as high as 30. Furthermore, all the guests who came along supported us throughout the experience (such as Mrs Kane Principal of Lismore, Board of Governors' Mrs Kate Adams, Link teacher and mentor to the team Mr McVeigh and Business Advisor Martin Hoy) and we could not have excelled so much without this loyal support 😊😊

Although this does mark the conclusion to Never Lace's journey with Young Enterprise, it does not mean that Never Lace won't live on for a long future ahead. We are now registered as a limited company via companies house which affirms this businesses place in the real world. The Never Lace magnetic buckle remains open for sale and our mission to offer comfort, safety and dignity for all is still very active 👟👞👟👞

Tomorrow Never Lace will take one grand leap as we fly to Gatwick Airport London! All six team members will be present, as well as our Link Teacher Mr Francis McVeigh, the principal of Lismore Mrs Fiona Kane and the chairwoman of the board of governors Mrs Kate Adams.

On Thursday the U.K Finals takes place (at the British Film Institute) as we host a stand for members of the public in the morning and present to the Young Enterprise judges in the afternoon. If we are successful with these two respective events we could be placed into the top five companies - who then present to an full auditorium in the evening.

The Best Company 2017 in the United Kingdom will be announced then following dinner and company presentations. On this note, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of this business venture. We could not have made it without you 😊😊

No matter what the outcome of our trip to London, Never Lace will continue to sell and grow. From this programme we have all developed a love for business and due to this we view Young Enterprise as a stepping stone to a hopeful bright career path ahead 👟👞

As mentioned in our recent post, our company is undergoing a few worthwhile changes. The most noticeable of these is our decision to change our business name from the previous ‘Easy Lace’ to the now reworked ‘Never Lace’. Due to our exposure with the BBC (Made in Northern Ireland with Stephen Nolan) we uncovered that another company based in England actually already have a trademarked registered for Easy Lace as a product name.

After consultations with a legal team and research carried on trade names and company name registrations, we decided that in the long term a new name was a necessary move in the run up to the U.K Finals next week. 🎉🎉

However, this is in no shape or form a negative for us. We have embraced this change and taken it in our stride. We feel ‘Never Lace’ better identifies the purpose of our product and we firmly believe that this will make us a stronger company in the extensive future. For Never Lace there is no end in sight, and regardless of the outcome of the Young Enterprise programme, we are committed to continuing to grow our business. 👟👞👟👞

Exam season is now officially finished for all team members at Easy Lace which means that we are back open full time for business! The Young Enterprise company Easy Lace from Lismore Comprehensive School has been named Company of the Year. They will go on to represent Northern Ireland, with their innovative magnetic shoe fastener, in the Young Enterprise UK Finals at the British Film Institute in London in July.

Truly an amazing night at the Young Enterprise Northern Ireland Finals at the Belfast City Hall! Not only were we presented with the 'Disney Creativity Award' but as the final moments came to a close we were in awe as Easy Lace were titled the Overall Best Company of the Year! 🎉🎉

The event was impeccably organised, ensuring that every company's hard work over the past 12 months was rightfully celebrated, and we were treated like absolute royalty - in our tuxedos and with a fancy dinner! 🍽🤵🏼

All the businesses involved (both team and company programme) were incredible and deserved every single bit of credit they received! The competition was definitely tough and all six area winners should be very proud of themselves. At the end of the day, because of the dedication and ambition demonstrated throughout, we are all winners!👏🏻👏🏻

Also a big congratulations to the Runner Up Best Company Hi Vis Hounds for their achievement. Definitely tough competition for Easy Lace! 🐶🐶

Wish us luck tonight at the Northern Ireland Finals at the Belfast City Hall! We are up against 5 other companies for the opportunity to compete in London in July.

We couldn't have made it here today without the support shown by all of you to this date! From the beginning of our journey at the Rushmere Trade Fair in February we never would have imagined that we would of came this far!
