Often when people escape North Korea, it’s Christians across the border in the South who will be the first contact to help. A lot of refugees are not saved at this point but they are led to safe houses belonging to Open Doors where they find a hot meal, a bed and help finding work. A lot of refugees return home to the North as Christians to aid in the underground church there. Please pray for this ministry - many lives are touched through those who provide a safe haven.

The temperature drops dramatically in North Korea and those who are vulnerable are more at risk of starvation and death. A lot of Christians there reside in camps or have to travel for work to get food.

North Korea's leader has compared the current situation to the terrible famine of the 1990s.
