Being named a finalist in the RETAS Greeting Card Retail Awards 2026 is a wonderful recognition of something we genuinely love doing.

Every card at Alchemist Gallery is individually selected by Hazel, from independent artists, illustrators and publishers across Scotland and the UK. Whether you're looking for a puffin, a paddleboarder, a badger or something beautifully artistic, we're always searching for cards that make people smile.

It's often said that people don't send cards these days, but we see the opposite every day. Customers take time choosing the perfect card, thinking carefully about what they want to say and who they want to say it to. Some of our artist cards are even bought to frame and keep rather than send.

We're incredibly grateful to our customers for supporting our card collection and helping us reach this stage. Thank you for continuing to shop local and support independent retail.

Open Gardens has a cafe at The Old Brewery to raise money for community groups - come and sample some of best home-baking on the Black Isle 🍰
