Since its inception more than ten years ago Big Cat Textiles has been an inspiration to the community that has grown on the back of the famous arts and crafts classes it offered in its unique setting in the converted Burgher Chapel in Newburgh. But then alas Covid came along, and with the best will in the world our business model with its tight profit margins became unsustainable.
So Big Cat, with its visiting tutors from all over the world and Alison's legendary lunches, is sadly no more, but we hope that it will live on in the hearts and minds of its many followers, and with that in mind are retaining this page as a legacy space where people can talk to each other and exchange news and views.
Alison has moved to Kinross and is developing her interest in wool dyeing, while Jeanette is still in the Burgher Chapel, which now houses a hat museum, and is exploring a new career as a film maker.
