I am now getting fleece and doing the whole process by hand - and loving it !!

Pics show, raw fleece (raw is straight out of the sheering shed)
Washing fleece usually twice, then a rinse before drying in the sunshine

I will soon have for sale :
Fleece (raw or washed)
Roving (washed dried and carded)
Spun wool (by drop spindle at the moment) ready for your next creation

I am not dying at the moment - everything is as traditional as possible and I am being as eco minded as I can be throughout

This is very time consuming but I do love it

Message me if your interested in purchasing some British wool you can trace to the farm where animal welfare is paramount

So exited to be spinning again !

To go from raw fleece to spun wool takes time but each process is quite fun

I hope you appreciate the work that goes into it

1 wash the fleece (it may take a couple of washes depends on the fleece),
2 Dye, if adding colour,
3 Dry - gently air dry in the sunshine,
4 carding, gotta get all those fibres going the same way in order to do the next step,
5 spin, I think its the best bit !
6 Ply,
7 Transfer from bobbin to niddy noddy to 'set the twist'
8 Put into a skein or ball
9 Then I can knit or crochet it into something !

I will also be selling Roving and ready to go skeins and balls of 100% wool
These will be natural sheep colour to begin with then I will be experimenting with natural dyes (in the summer when we have the nice weather as its a messy job to be done outside)

I know it's not everyone's cuppa tea but it fun and will be for sale soon ish (When its finished)

Finished - Lost Souls Shawl - in white sparkle acrylic yarn.

Love it, enjoyed making it - this was the 1st one I made so it took 2 weeks, by the time i got the hang of it and life got in the way etc,

I am sure I will be making a few of these

I will happily make more in the colour of your choice from £30 (depending on the yarn you want)

Sewing projects at the mo-being worked on and sworn at !! then i calm down by knitting - a baby blanket for a local charity

Very easy to make
Cast on 40sts
Rib 1x1 10 rows
**Ss 4 rows
K 4 y/o 2tog repeat
Ss 4 rows
K2 y/o k2tog repeat
Repeat** so you do this section twice, then
K4 y/o k2tog
Ss 4 rows
Cast off leaving long tail for sewing together

That's it !

Then simply sew up leaving a thumb hole
I sew up ribbed cuff and the 3rd row of holes to the too leaves me plenty of space but easily adapted if needs be.

luckily I wrote down the pattern as I made it up as I went - nothing in the shops fit her slender figure !
I will make more for her and give some to Dog's Trust
Its simply a rectangle on the back (100 stitches wide) joined together at one end for the neck, add a belly strap (20 stitches wide)- done !
