Prom season is always one of favourite times of year but do get super busy so we thought we'd film a q&a answer the most common questions we get asked about prom fittings!

We are now pretty booked up with prom dresses for May and June but do have room for a couple more so please get in contact with us asap 🙏

We’ve had a lot of people asking what the difference between the two types of bridal appointments we offer are so we thought we’d film a quick video and break it down for you! 🩷

Consultation:
- 15 minutes
- Free
- For brides who are unsure what alterations are required. We will discuss options and provide a rough estimate but no fitting or pinning is carried out.

Fitting Appointment:
- Up to 60 minutes
- For brides who know what alterations they need and are ready to proceed with alterations. During this appointment, your dress will be fully fitted and pinned, and a detailed alterations plan will be confirmed.

We always want to make you aware that fitting appointments are for clients who are confident they would like to go ahead with the work. A significant amount of time and expertise is dedicated to these appointments so if you choose not to proceed after a fitting appointment, we reserve the right to introduce a fitting fee or booking deposit to cover time spent.

The process of getting your alterations or repairs done at FGA really is so simple. We offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all and aim to make the experience of getting your clothes altered as easy and stress free as possible.

We currently have a 2-3 week turnaround time. For casual wear you’re more than welcome to pop in whenever us convenient for you but if you have wedding dresses, prom dresses or any formal/evening wear we do ask you book an appointment either through our contact form on our website or by giving us a call.

You can find us at 8 Friar Gate, Derby where we are open Tues-Fri 9am-5pm and 9am-4pm on Saturdays.
