Machine of the Month: the Bernina 475 Quilters Edition

Rita has picked this one for September, and her reasoning was straightforward: it is a great machine for classes. Solid enough to take proper use, light enough to carry to a workshop, and simple enough that you are sewing within minutes rather than reading a manual.

It comes with the extension table for larger projects, a clear touchscreen for stitch selection, and that unmistakable Bernina feel through the handwheel and the foot pedal. If you have been eyeing up a Bernina for a while, this is a lovely place to start.

And right now it comes with a free Bernina trolley bag worth £250. If you take your machine anywhere, to a class, a retreat or a friend's kitchen table, you will use it constantly.

Mattishall Yard Sale Sunday 6th September 2026 10-1 !! There will be over 60 stalls across the village.
We will have lots and lots of ‘FABRIC’ for any stitchers or crafty people who want a bargain! They are all labelled up by size and lots of cottons too!
We also have everything from a record player, kids cloths and toys, small items of furniture and much much more!!

This coming; Sunday 6th September; 10am to 1pm Mattishall will be holding its annual yard sale. There will be a map available for all the stalls on the day - come and get yourself a bargain!
I will be selling off plenty of fabric and sewing supplies along with clothes and household
Items.

I just wanted to pop a post out to let all my fabulous customers know I’ll be back from my annual leave next week, albeit I am sadly home from my holiday I’m just taking the last few days of with my daughter before school starts.
