This Christmas, many families in our city are feeling the pressure of rising costs, low incomes and winter bills. In the months ahead, more people will need our help.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, schools and community, last Christmas we provided hampers to over 1,000 households, filled with food, gifts and essentials.

We’d be grateful for your support again this year. Here’s how you can help:

Hold a collection using our Christmas List of most-needed items.

Deliver donations to us if you can; or email [email protected] and we’ll arrange to collect.

🧶 SEW EXCITED!! 🧶

It's nearly that time of year again! A new term of sewing classes for September. We are having our ENROLMENT DAY in two weeks where you can come along to the Fashion Hub, find out all about the different classes on offer, and sign up and pay on the day.

Some of the classes are in very high demand, and sell out super fast! We've even added some extra sets of classes due to popular demand.

Come along TUESDAY 26th AUGUST to sign up for September sewing.

In the lead up to enrolment day on Friday, we're gonna post about each of the amazing classes on offer here at The Fashion and Textile Design Centre - FTDC.

TEENAGE STITCH is a brand new After-School course and sure to be in high demand! The classes are aimed at secondary school pupils and offer an opportunity for students to learn the basics of hand sewing with Lou Loves This. You build up your skills from threading a needle, to embroidery, appliqué and all kinds of textile art.

☀ NEW STYLE FOR THE NEW YEAR ☀

Very excited to announce the first one-day workshop of 2025 at The Fashion and Textile Design Centre - FTDC!! The cold snap has passed and the days are getting longer, come along SATURDAY 8th FEBRUARY and make a garment for the new season, from start to finish.

This is not a class for total beginners, some sewing experience is required, but you will have help from our amazing tutors throughout. Choose from either an A-line dress, elasticated trousers, or a casual top. Pick your fabrics and design details, and work away all day on your own handmade garment.
