Optimum Corner is a cosy, intimate venue, suitable for one-to-one and small groups meetings. The building is on the corner of Eastleigh Road and Waylands, in Devizes. Although the postal address is Eastleigh Road, the entrance is on Waylands. There is on-site parking for 5 cars, as well as plenty of free parking on the road. Just because it's Sunday doesn't mean there's nothing going on, here at Optimum Corner.

This morning an expectant mum came to collect a birth pool, and this afternoon an expectant couple are coming for an antenatal sling consult, with Swindon and Devizes Sling Library.

Devizes, Melksham and Calne Breastfeeding Support is running here this afternoon (17th July), as it does pretty much every Friday afternoon.

Meet other new and expectant parents, have a cup of tea (or coffee, squash or water) and if you have any feeding concerns, you can discuss them with a fully qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor.

There's toys for all ages of children, and scales are available, should you wish to weigh your baby.

Optimum Bumps is a free antenatal support group. It allows anyone with a baby bump the opportunity to meet others, in a friendly and informal setting, while learning a little something about pregnancy, birth and babies along the way. The group runs on Thursday evenings, here at Optimum Corner, and each week a different topic is covered.

This week (Thursday 18th June) the topic is slings. Carrying your baby in a sling enables you to bond with your child while allowing you to be hands free. However there are a confusingly large variety of makes and styles to choose from. Not only will you be able to find out about the many benefits of wearing your baby in a sling, but you'll also get the chance to have a play with some of Swindon and Devizes Sling Library's collection of slings and find out exactly how the library works.

Optimum Bumps is the free antenatal group, which meets here, on Thursday evenings. There's just two sessions left this month (we've not got a session on the 25th).

Tonight the topic is caesarean birth - Whether you are planning a caesarean, considering one or trying to avoid one, with around half of all births locally caesarean, it is a procedure that all expectant parents should something bit about.

Find out what actually happens during a caesarean and just what your options are, as well as being able to chat to a mum who has had a caesarean birth.
