❤️A BIT ABOUT ME❤️

Hey everyone!

Now that I’m getting back into the swing of things after my time off, I thought I’d reintroduce myself!

My name is Kaitlyn Bartlett, I’m 25 years old and live in Dundee, Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I decided to start Klash Fashion during lockdown when I had more spare time to reflect and think about what I really wanted for my future.

I’ve always loved making my own clothes and taught myself how to sew from the age of 17 and through my business I’ve developed so many skills which now enable me to help teach others how to sew and make amazing things!

Purpose is huge for me in anything I work towards and that includes my business. Just as anyone has, I too have gone through difficult times throughout my life and what matters most to me is simply treating others how I’d like to be treated and trying to help with improving their reality in some shape or form.

This can be through learning new skills, meeting new people, developing healthy ways to cope (all of which are included within the workshops I host)

Or

It can be through mentoring and helping support those who need it. This is something I do in my job role outside of Klash!

I’m a big believer of prioritising myself and my mental well-being and love spending time journaling, catching up with friends and family and being creative.

🥳I’M BACK🥳

Hello! I’m back feeling refreshed and feeling more positive, motivated and excited!

As you all know, I decided to take a break from my business as I was feeling like I was getting closer and closer to burning out.

I also started a brand new job I wanted to dedicate all of my time and energy on settling into my new role!

A few things are going to be changing at KLASH…

Firstly, I have decided to put a halt on the fashion/e-commerce side of my business.

This is because the cost of living is continuing to rise and understandably, buying more expensive pieces of fashion isn’t a priority for a lot of people right now.

I also want to reclaim making clothes and sewing as my own and treat it as more of a hobby just for me right now. I fell out of love with making fashion just before I had taken my break and it’s helped me through so much of my life, I don’t ever want to feel close to losing the love I have for it again!

HOWEVER

In the future I do plan on reintroducing handmade fashion to you all, but for now I’m only doing it for myself as a hobby, I hope you can all understand.

Instead, I’ll be focusing on the community side of my business. I’m open to offering group and community workshops in community centres and events.

There will be a post explaining lots more about how to get involved and what I’ll be offering for the community soon so keep an eye out for that if you’re interested!

Also, to anyone who placed an order while I was on my break, thanks SO MUCH for your patience and I’ll be in touch very soon!

I’m taking a break!

Hey everyone,

I’m posting today to let you all know I’m taking some well needed time off!

I’m being so raw and honest here but I’ve been feeling close to burn out for some time now.

I’ve also started an amazing new job that requires my fullest efforts right now as I settle into it, meaning I’ve decided to take a wee break from Klash Fashion for a little while.

I love my little brand and everything it stands for, however I’m feeling like my passion is slowly fading away right now and I’m getting so drained and tired.

I have put so much hard work into this brand for a long time now and to be fully transparent with you all I’m just really struggling with sales and exposure and it’s taken such a toll on me and my mental health.

I don’t feel that it’s right to keep pushing through the hard times when it’s clear to me I’ve been doing that for quite a while now and it’s time to take a step back and rest!

I hope to return feeling full of energy and passion to continue growing Klash Fashion as I know what I’ve built is an amazing business.

I hope to see you at one of the pop up events listed above in the meantime and if not, I’ll catch you all after my break in October!

Please note - I will be keeping the website open however any orders will not be processed until I return on the 25th of October.

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I’d ask the question, what are you grateful for?

Over the past month I’ve been reading a book called ‘The Magic’ by Rhonda Byrne and wow… it’s such a life changing read for me.

Each day for 28 days, I had to do a practice and write 10 different things I am grateful for each day which added up to 280 things in total over 28 days!

If you love anything about manifesting, you’ll know just how powerful gratitude is.

Dundee based Kaitlyn Bartlett Textiles is an independent online handmade brand with a sustainable approach to fashion. Kaitlyn specialises in the craft of handmade garments and believes in emphasizing the handmade aspect of fashion and the time, care and craftsmanship that goes into each product.

Kaitlyn graduated with an Honours Degree in Textile Design Dundee's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2019 and specialises in digital print. Kaitlyn has a strong passion for the art of handmade products and creates her pieces to give a voice of individuality. Kaitlyn’s style is heavily influenced by botanicals and 60’s style as her main inspiration is 60’s designer Mary Quant.
