Hello Instagram friends 🤎

Online shopping can be daunting. Let me share with you our process to make it a little easier.

♡ Not always, but quite often, you and I exchange a few messages to discuss the garments you have your eye on and how we can adapt them to best fit your body shape and style preferences.

♡ Orders are placed through our website. Be sure to measure yourself against our size chart first! Most of our garments are loose fitting.

♡ Once the order is placed we get to cutting and sewing it, right here in Scotland. This can take up to 6 weeks (but usually a lot less). If you need your garment for a specific date, get in touch as we do our best to accommodate.

♡ Your parcel is posted out by Royal Mail. If your garment doesn’t quite feel the way you envisioned, we can amend it for a small alteration fee. It rarely happens but if you feel like we’ve made a mistake when making your garment, we will fix it.

♡ Then just love it. Mend when torn. Recycle when worn.

Have you ever wondered why you seem to hear a lot about organic cotton but not organic linen?

That’s because linen can thrive naturally without pesticides, chemicals or even much water. That’s not to say that people don’t use them anyway! Nevertheless, even if chemicals have been used, you can be assured it is far less than when growing cotton.

That’s why it’s our favourite fibre and will always take centre stage here.

Crafted from vintage textiles picked up on my wanderings across Stockholm.

Here is how this limited collection works 👇

🌸 Skirts are cut as wide as the fabric allows to include a range of sizes. Then we tailor the elasticated waist to your exact size.
🌸This means that if you are in the smaller end of our size chart there will be more gathering and volume when worn.
🌸Everything is sold on a first come first serve basis.
🌸For any custom requests like hem shortening, volume reduction etc. Please follow up via email with your order name and number.
🌸Reply to order confirmation with your waist measurement.

Hey, it’s Alana 👋

Today I’m cutting vintage fabric to make a series of SHONA SKIRTS ✂️

As they are mostly one-off pieces, I cut them as wide as the fabric allows to include as many sizes as possible.

I then sew them with a temporary waistband for photographs to show you. Then the waist is tailored to your specific measurements after ordering.

What a relief 😩

Blouses all done and posted ✅ I really struggle to maintain the marketing side of things when I get a flurry of orders.

I usually get wracked with an irrational feeling of guilt doing anything else bar sewing, when there are orders waiting to be made.

It’s a viscous cycle but I’m glad to say I’m taking steps to get some support from content creators and seamstresses 🤞

P.s. definitely still grateful for flurries of orders and to you for supporting small fashion 🤗
