We are a small friendly sewing Bee . We meet in Lanchester Community Centre on a Monday evening 7pm until we get thrown out by the caretaker.

We are a mixed group all abilities and varied interests . We make clothing , attempt alterations. Make curtains and soft furnishings . We have drafted our own patterns and are about to start a new year in a new room with our own kitchen , loo and loads of space to cut and sew. 8 sockets will be available .

Tea and Coffee on tap and if we are very good !CAKE!

We dont follow a set programme so if theres anything anybody wants to try , we have a go and see what happens .

Our new room has disabled loo and flat access so all are able to easily get machines and bags in and out .

I love it.

'Twas the night before Christmas,
And the quilts were not made.
The threads were all tangled, the cookies delayed.
The stocking weren't hung, the pantry was bare.
The poor weary Quilter, was tearing her hair.
Stacks of fat quarters, tipped over in streams.
Visions of Log Cabins, had turned into dreams.

When what to her wondering eyes should appear,
But a bus full of quilters with all of their gear.
They went straight to work with just a few mutters,
Sorting and stitching and brandishing cutters.
The patterns emerged from all of the clutter,
Like magic the fabrics arranged in a flutter.
Log Cabins, Lone Stars, Flying Geese & Bear Tracks
Each quilt was a beauty-even the backs.

Her house how it twinkled, her quilts how they glowed.
The cookies were baking, the stockings were sewed.
Their work was all done, so they folded their frames,
And packed up their needles, without giving their names.
They boarded the bus, and checked the next address.
More quilts to be made, another quilter in distress.

She heard one voice echo, as they drove out of sight,
Happy quilting to all and to all a good night!

Rosie belongs to an epileptic boy. She is his rock. He's had hundreds and hundreds of fits since he was a young baby and also brain surgery. Rosie looked after him. She fetched mum or dad if they weren't there when he fitted. Then she comforted him as he recovered. She laid with him for hours and days after his surgery. She went everywhere with him. She enabled him to go out alone because she'd bring him home again. She gave him confidence and she was his best friend.

She went into the garden at 10.45pm on 4th February 2016 and disappeared. It was caught on CCTV that she got out but she never came back. There have never been any sightings reported. We can only presume someone nearby found her and either kept her and is keeping her hidden or they sold her on.

Rosie is almost 3 years old now. She is a small built black labrador, microchipped and she has a distinctive mole on the left side of her nose.

We cannot give up our search for Rosie. She is irreplaceable to her boy.

There is a £1500 reward being offered for information leading to Rosie's safe return and we do understand if someone has unwittingly bought Rosie or taken her on not realising who she is - we just need her back home keeping this boy happy and safe and allowing him his freedom.

Contact details, etc are on Rosie's page.

The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, left, has been praised for encouraging home sewing and dressmaking, once seen as dying arts. It's made by Love Productions - makers of Bake Off.
