Textiles Sketchbook part 2

Another speedy flip through of a sketchbook I produced as part of my textiles module for my final year. ‘Peonies and Poppies’ fashion developments, I have used my textiles samples on the stand to explore different placements for the textiles integration within my final collection.

I had so much fun creating these sketchbooks and textiles samples. I loved seeing my ideas come to life. I hope you all enjoy looking through it all as much as I do 🌹🌸❤️

Outfit 1 and outfit 2 toiles have been created. A few adjustments are still needed to make the perfect but I’m so happy with the results.

The scary part now is well underway, I am making them in the final fabrics.

A sneak peek of my textiles integration for the back of Outfit 2’s jacket is on the 3rd slide and I made a last minute decision to include a concealed placket🙈

Some very exciting things have been happening today, I learnt how to screen printt and have been trying to make the pigments as neon as possible when they are printed onto a black fabric🎨

I cant wait to show you all the finished product and how I will be incorporating this screen printing into my final collection🙈

2025 has been a busy year for me and sewing. I started the year leaning more about pattern cutting and making myself some new garments, I did a lot of alterations for friends and family. My biggest achievement of the year was my first custom order for a graduation dress, it came with a lot of challenges, I made the pattern myself and did a lot of alterations to get it perfect. I ended the year going back to university for my final year and have loved seeing my visions come to life.

I can’t wait to see what next year brings, it’ll be a lot of hard work but I’m so excited to bring you all along on my journey☺️.

Term 1 or final year is officially over🥹
Here’s some highlights of the last few months of me figuring out what I want my final collection to be based on and some techniques I have enjoyed experimenting with.

1 - neon flowers, I have decided my collection will be all done in black fabrics with neon prints and embroidery shining through.

2 - a poppy digital embroidery sample in neon pink😆.

3 - the sky looking stunning after uni.

4 - some more flower collages again in neon because you can never have enough neon.

5 - another gorgeous sunset.

6 - a super volume sleeve toile, I was very happy with the volume I managed to create.

7 - finally me with all my stuff I take to uni every day studying fashion design = a lot of bags all the time 😅.
