🌟 I have also worked on 2 waistcoats for a gentleman and a I am just about to start his suit jacket which will take me a good few hours this afternoon ☺️

✨ Winter Sewing Weekend Retreat – Would You Be Interested? ✨

I’m thinking about organising a cosy Winter Sewing Weekend Retreat and wanted to see if it’s something you’d love to join! 🧵❄️

The idea is to spend a relaxing weekend at a beautiful country hotel in the New Forest, enjoying sewing, good food and great company.

The weekend would include:
🛏️ Hotel stay with breakfast
🥪 Light lunch
🍽️ Evening dinner
🧵 Two full days of sewing (10am–5pm)
👭 Small group in a private room
✂️ Bring your own sewing machine, fabric and work on your own projects
💡 Garment construction demonstrations from your host, Eastleigh Sewing Specialist

At the moment I’m just seeing how much interest there is before confirming prices and dates.

These 33 photos take you behind the scenes and show just how much work goes into what seems like a simple alteration.

Shortening a jacket isn’t just about taking the hem up. The jacket has to be carefully taken apart, measured, rebalanced, altered, and then meticulously reassembled so that the proportions, shape, pockets, vents, lining and overall finish all look as though it was made that way from the start.

It’s a skilled process that takes patience, precision, and attention to every tiny detail. When it’s done properly, you’d never know the jacket had been altered at all.

Proud moment for me today ❤️⚽
When I started my little business, my biggest goal was simple — I wanted more quality time with my family. I wanted the flexibility to be there for the school runs, the football matches, and all the little moments that matter most.
I never imagined that one day I’d be able to support my son’s football team by sponsoring their kit.
Seeing them wearing shirts with my business name on the front is honestly surreal. What started as a small idea from home has grown into something that not only gives us more time together, but also allows me to give something back to a team that means so much to our family.
I’m incredibly proud of how far the business has come, and even prouder to be able to support my son and his teammates in this way.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my little business along the journey — it truly means the world to us. 🧡🖤⚽

Hello everyone! 👋

I thought I’d do a quick introduction for all my new followers!

🧵 I’m Lisa, a seamstress based in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

🧵 I’ve been sewing for 17 years. I mainly specialise in wedding dress and prom dress alterations, although I’m occasionally asked to create something special from scratch. I also offer men’s tailoring and general clothing alterations.

🧵 I also teach sewing and created my Garment Construction Course, which I launched last year. It covers everything from basic machine control to making a complete garment, including pockets, zips, and a variety of hemming techniques.

🌟 I hope this page brings you joy, inspiration, and a little insight into the wonderful world of sewing. Thank you for following along!
