Tennis anyone? For those who will be glued to their seats, here are some typical Wimbledon snacks. Perfect for eating while WATCHING the game!
Pimm’s iced tea : Place 4 Ceylon tea bags and a few sprigs of mint into a large jug. Pour over 1.2L boiled water and leave it to infuse for 10 minutes, then remove the bags and stir in 100g of caster sugar. Once it has cooled, remove the mint and add 1 cup of orange juice, the juice of 1 lemon and 1 ½ cups of Pimm’s No 1. Let it cool in the fridge and serve with fresh mint, sliced fruit and crushed ice
Toad in the hole
Strawberries & cream : locally it’s not in season at the moment but you can gently heat a packet of frozen berries in a sugar syrup and half a vanilla pod until it is heated through. Serve them warm with a dollop of whipped cream.
