This support from Hazaar's University of Birmingham group was amazing. But this clothing and bedding could have stayed in the West Midlands if we had a Community Sharewear franchise here. We have the volunteers, we have the clothes. We're still looking for an organization with space in their premises for us to make a start. Could it be you? Contact our West Midlands Executive [email protected] for more details.

📣 Calling all interested in fair access to clothing 📣

Access to clothing is an economic justice as well as a human rights issue. Millions of pounds worth of clothing is wasted and this disenfranchises people from accessing much needed items.

Join our workshop on Economic Justice & the Right to Clothing. You will be introduced to the work Sharewear does, while also exploring economic justice and how to make clothing accessible to all.

It is run as a collaboration between Sharewear Clothing Scheme and the human rights charity, Journey to Justice.

Our work covers several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals all at the same time but our primary purpose is part of SDG 1 -- End Poverty. Part of ending or reducing poverty is to ensure everyone can access the basic fundamental human right, a right which has been mothballed and which we are determined to raise awareness of and access to: The Right to Clothing.
Join us TONIGHT with Peace and Justice Project live from The University of Manchester . Discover the aims of the Campaign and how you can join with a very simple first individual action.

The ‘Right to Clothing’ network launches this Thursday 22
September. Join us in Manchester and online (details below)

It aims to raise awareness of clothing deprivation, provide clothing directly to people on the ground through Community Sharewear franchises, bring about a change in the law which better protects the right to clothing, and thus ensure that charity is not required for any individual to access adequate clothing.

On we reflect that, when the United Nations General Assembly instigated this day back in 2012, little did they think that so called 'Developed Countries' like the UK would be being kept going by the voluntary and small charity sector 10 years on. In spite of staff Leave both at Sharewear and in the organisations who refer into or take delivery from us, over 1000 people were able to access their in August, only because we exist. What if we didn't? If you can afford £1 per week, to support our work and have a big chance of the small prize each week, please consider playing our lottery --which is 2 years old today! If you sign up now there's a luxurious Staycation up for grabs too. Help us bring our service to the West Midlands.

Our West Midlands Regional Executive collected donations today! Thanks to the
University of Birmingham for housing the collection point in their library over the last few weeks. Huge thanks to the graduates that made it happen

Just 1 day left until the comes to a close, meaning there's just 1 day left to donate at our University of Birmingham Library collection point.

While Team GB athletes have filled the nation's trophy cases, you have helped us fill our collection bins. But there's still more to be done. On our last day, we urge you to scour your wardrobe and dig deep into your drawers to find your last donations and do your bit this Games to alleviate clothing poverty.

Good luck to Emily Campbell who'll be competing in weightlifting at The Commonwealth Games today. When you're watching her on TV, remember that excelling in your sport begins with the most basic of steps, but young people across the UK can't access the chance to shine simply because they don't have basic fitness clothing. Not only does having have a negative effect on your mental and physical health, it means that people never get to fulfil their potential -- never get to become the future champions they could be.

That's why University of Birmingham students are linking us with the Commonwealth Games right NOW, to raise awareness of this issue and do something about it. Donate clothing throughout The Games at the University Library on Edgbaston campus and donate financially to our work in pubs across Digbeth.

. Everyone has the . Everyone has the potential to be a champion. 🏋️‍♀️
