Jasmine Linington Textiles Sustainable textile artist, designer and maker exploring seaweed.

Inspired by the beautiful colours and textures that the seashore has to offer, I use the coast as my visual and material inspiration. A beautiful and environmentally friendly fiber called 'seacell', is the main ingredient to my handcrafted work. Having experimented with this silk-like fiber, which dyes beautifully, I produce a hand-dyed and embroidered fabric for fashion and interiors accessories.

A dream come true 💫

I’ve been following Toast for many years now. I first came across the brand when I was studying on my BA textile degree , nearly 10 years ago now! Where has the time gone? So when they reached out earlier this year about featuring me in their digital magazine, it was very much a pinch me moment.

Hi everyone, I thought I would hop on here to let you all know that although I have been very quiet on here recently, I am still working away behind the scenes, fulfilling orders and working on commissions.

Life is quite different for me now and I love it very much. We welcomed a little member into our family this March 👶🏼 he is adorable, and his name is Fergie.

I am hoping to have a little more time now to share my work on here, so here goes the first post in over 6 months, with plenty more to follow 🤞🏼 x

Work in progress - finishing off a large Colours of Seaweed commission. The blank areas will be filled in for this piece, but I’m quite enjoying the random spaces scattered throughout for a little moment of breath.

Seaweed Ripple No.1

I love how time allows the kelp sequins to mature in their colour, creating a mix of green and reddish brown tones.

I’ve been quietly working away in the studio on some exciting projects over the last few weeks. One being some new bespoke cushions for the recently opened .scotland

Bard were looking for warm earthy and ochre tones in the embroidery and I have loved working with these tones. A shift away from my current cushion collection, yet one I will certainly be continuing with. The addition of the fluffy SeaCell lines brings a lovely texture to the cushions, along with a relaxed, yet elegant finish.

Knotted Wrack.

This species is up there on my favourites list. I especially love the colour gradient from Olive green to sun bleached tip.
