Couple subtle and practical changes for these Galaxy SPZL. Had these in a state a few times and they always clean up well but the tongues were looking worse for wear. Swapped them out for some nice soft leather tongues and added reflective tongue labels. Lastly I cut off the top lace loops and punched some lace holes in, just so I don’t need to tie them as tight or even at all. Added the Galaxy lettering a few years back when I got them.

Really didn’t like the galaxy spzl when they first came out. Thought they were too bulky until I seen them on foot. One of my favourite pairs now and definitely top 5 Spzl releases imo

Came up with the name for these before I had a think about the design. Originally a pair of adidas New York so I thought Auld Reekie was a good play on words. Also Edinburgh is considered one of first cities to build upwards. The buildings in the old town were the skyscrapers of their time.

The stripes/heels were inspired by the famous and colourful Victoria Street with the suede/mesh representing the sandstone architecture. This pair glows in the dark and shines in the light, very much like Auld Reekie. You can get a lot of walking done in Edinburgh which is why I added the toe bumpers. They also come with changeable tongue labels

Based these on a pair that I done near the end of 2021. Was the first custom I done that was a bit different from what I seen kicking about. I also dyed my C.P. Company Nyfoil down jacket at the same time when doing those customs.

I wore the jacket constantly to work and back and it ended up ripping at one of the pockets so I decided to work it into this pair here.

The pair was dip dyed and then mostly unstitched to remove the stripes, lining etc. I was going to wrap the stripes in the Nyfoil material but I liked how underneath the stripes were left untouched by dye and the zigzag stitch connecting the two sections of leather is distinctly C.P. Company looking I think. Lining and heel tabs were wrapped and everything put back together by hand. The front two pockets of the jacket were used for the tongues. Originally a pair of adidas New York so the obvious name for these would be adidas X C.P. Company NY-Foil

Should have probably explained all of the work gone into these as I’ve seen a couple comments saying they’re trx mesh spzl with a redye and C.P. Company tongue labels😅 . The trainers were completely unstitched all over and put back together by hand. I dyed the suede after unstitching them to avoid getting any dye on the mesh. I also cut a few mm off the suede on the front stripes and zig zag stitched them on. C.P. Company Re-colour material stitched into the uppers but leaving the original mesh on the toe box. The same material was then glued to some dimple tongues and hand stitched in along with the tongue labels. Reflective vinyl added to the stripes and heel tabs. Hardest part was sewing the lining back in as that’s done on a flat surface in the factory before the soles go on. I had to keep bending and stretching the lining whilst sewing to get it back on as best as I could. They wouldn’t have been anywhere as clean if I had used a sewing machine. This pair probably took around 40/50 hours which is why they’re not for sale because I wouldn’t really expect anyone to pay over a weeks wages for them. It’s more of an itch I had to scratch and hopefully they catch the attention of adidas etc. Gary Aspden did give them a like on instagram so job done on this pair I suppose 😂

Managed to get nearly everything that influences me into a pair of shoes. These are made to resemble the iconic bomber jacket and a few nods to the parka, both jackets were adopted by countless subcultures and usually paired with Dr Martens or adidas. The purest of most these subcultures would probably hate these tbf😂
