I have been taking the last two weeks to fully comprehend what has been going on in America and around the world. The murder of George Floyd was completely unnecessary and highlights the deep rooted racism within societies. It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch protesters put their lives at risk during a pandemic when all they really want is justice and equality. I have been educating myself on white privilege and how I can use mine to help others as an ally. It is so important to be aware of our privilege and use it to help others. Black LGBT people are also targets to extreme violence and discrimination, so since it is pride month I will be splitting all the money I make from selling earrings and matching it myself to two charities who help Black people and Black LGBT people. I am still doing research on charities that I can donate to but I will provide more information when I find the right charities. If anyone can suggest a charity that I can donate to I would really appreciate it. (If any of my words in the post offend anyone or if I have said something incorrect please inform me, I am still learning and educating myself on these issues) @ Edinburgh, United Kingdom
