Bella Notte — “Beautiful Night”

I’ve always loved the drama of flowers against a dark background — the way colour seems to become even more vibrant when it emerges from black.

That idea became Bella Notte: a garden of richly coloured tulips and flowers set against a deep black ground, almost as though they’re glowing in the evening light.

For me, florals don’t always have to feel soft or delicate. Against black, they become something altogether different — bold, romantic and a little mysterious.

I've been using oils on my skin for as long as I can remember — at least 25 years. It’s always been one of my biggest beauty secrets.

Eventually, I began making my own oils, creating different blends that have continued to evolve over the years. I suppose it’s the designer in me — I’ve always loved experimenting, creating and making something uniquely my own.

Most recently, I’ve been using the rose hips I discovered growing in my own garden — picking and drying them by hand, slowly infusing them into oil and creating my own rosehip facial oil.

I love the whole process, from picking the rose hips to preparing the oil and finally using it on my skin. And it has the most beautiful, delicate natural fragrance.

After all these years, facial oil is still one of the beauty rituals I would never be without. 🌹

Seeing a design come to life from the very beginning.

I started by painting the water lilies and wisteria by hand, developing the colours, movement and details until the artwork became the print I had envisioned.
From there, I sent my artwork to Italy, where it was transformed into this beautiful fabric.

There is something quite magical about holding the finished fabric in my hands and seeing something that began as a painting become part of my collection.
