Bill Baber Knitwear Designing and making Edinburgh's finest knitwear, right in the heart of the Old Town. We're an Edinburgh based knitwear designer and manufacturer.

We love bold colours, interesting shapes and distinctive patterns! Bill & Helen Baber first opened their studio workshop in the Grassmarket back in 1976 and have been going strong ever since. They moved into their current location at number 66 30 years ago and are looking forward to their 40th year in business. burgh Old Town. The widest selection can be found in store, however we do have a superb collection available online for you to enjoy at www.billbaber.com. Designed and made on site in the Grassmarket, the collection is ever expanding and developing. Bill Baber Knitwear is a true boutique business and holds quality at its heart.

Last month, Bill, Helen, and Jack's sweaters walked the Dressed to Kilt runway in Manhattan!

We don't have a massive marketing budget or celebrity backing. What we have is nearly 50 years of doing one thing incredibly well: making Scottish knitwear that people genuinely love.

The Grouse Kintyre and Gaulmogit Marcia Sweaters that showed in New York are the same ones we knit, steam press, and hand-finish in our Edinburgh workshop every single day.

Jack's visit to USA Kilts in Spring City, PA, back in April was a total treat of a day! The sun was shining on their gorgeous purpose built location and Jack got the tour from Rocky and Iain of the storefront as well as the huge workshop studio upstairs. They custom make and stock a huge range of kilts and all the accessories you could ask for! We love finding businesses promoting Scottish culture and heritage all over the world, just like our own Made in Scotland knits!
