In celebration of craft in all its forms.

As this year’s sponsors of Edinburgh International Festival and Mere Mortals, performed by San Francisco Ballet, we’ve commissioned a cyanotype artist to interpret the ballet through his own craft.

Exploring the possibilities and implications of artificial intelligence through the historic art form of ballet, Mere Mortals finds a parallel in Edd’s film: a celebration of handmade animation, with every frame meticulously created by hand.

Together, these different approaches to making are brought together through movement, artistry and craft.
