Hello! I'm quickly popping over here to let you know that I'll be at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh tomorrow and Sunday (9th & 10th August) with and my dressmaking brand .

I'm so excited to be back in Edinburgh right in the midsts of the fringe, and this should be a fantastic event. It would be brilliant to see some familiar faces from back in the HZ days! Hope to see you there 😚❤️

Hey there! It's been a very long time since I popped my head up on here, but I thought I'd say one last (maybe/probably) goodbye as I've decided the time has come to officially take the Hannah Zakari website offline. It's always been at the back of my mind to bring it back but there always seems to be something that feels more important. Anyway, I'm going to officially close next Monday 24th February, so if you would like to take some of the last pieces off my hands that would be lovely 😚

Looking back on my HZ years I feel really proud and have so many fond memories of the amazing people I worked with and the things we did. I have enormous gratitude to those who helped me through some really tough times, especially during the last few years of the shop. I think I probably didn't express it enough at the time but I'll be eternally thankful.

However, this isn't a sad tale and life is good in a different way these days. I'm working for another small retail business where I get to flex my creative muscles, and after years of talking about having my own line of clothing, I've finally started cutting the pattern pieces I'm quite offline but I always think 'I really should put that on instagram' and maybe one day I will! is where you'll find it when it happens ✨

Anyway, this is probably the most I've ever written on here. Love you all and thanks for everything ❤️❤️❤️

It's a little late for a Happy New Year, but how's 2024 treating you so far? It's been ages since I posted anything here but I thought it's about time that I introduced you to www.dotandhana.co.uk, my new online space for jewellery and creativity.

For the last year I've been quietly working away on this new little website in my spare time, slowly building a collection of jewellery and a few other things. Over the next few weeks I'll add more sewing and jewellery and if you sign up to the mailing list you'll be one of the first to know when it's available.

Thank you to everyone for shopping with HZ this year. We wouldn't be here without you and more than ever have appreciated your support ❤️ I've been overwhelmed by the kind comments and messages as we closed our shop, you really are the best 🥰

If you'd told me at the beginning of 2020 I'd be ending it in this way I'd hardly dare believe you!

And to top things off, last week we moved house again! We weren't sure for a while that we'd be able to do this and I'm so happy to be back by the sea and finally settle down! (Random sea photo explained!)

I hope everyone is happy and safe this Christmas, and it's as good as can be given the circumstances.

Our last designers of the year! All tagged so that you can find and support them in future! Thanks for all your messages and comments while I've been sharing some/most of the designers we've stocked over the last 10 years of our shop, so many designers have said HZ was their first stockist which makes me very happy as that's totally what I set out to do - bring new, interesting and beautiful things to our customers!

Where does the time go! It's just over 3 weeks since I handed the keys back from my little shop and it simultaneously feels like it happened both yesterday and 3 years ago 🙃

Last week I set up a temporary mini studio at home so this week I'll be making and photographing and working on getting the website back up and running again.

So last night was the very last time I'll ever open my little shop on Candlemaker Row 😥 Thanks to everyone who has come in and said hello and shopped with us over the last few weeks, and last 10 years! It's been wonderful to see you all 🥰

If you'd like to visit the shop today or Monday just let me know, I'll be here if you want to take a look or buy things, not properly doors open but everyone is welcome.

Our online shop will remain open for a few weeks and then I'm going to take a break and turn off my work emails for the first time in 16 years! I hope to reopen the website in plenty time for Christmas orders so we won't be gone too long, and I'll still be on social media now and again!
