SO honoured and speechless to share my work featured in Elle Decor France May Edition alongside extremely talented and diverse designers and businesses!! - many of which I feel very starstruck by - having had their work on mood boards for years 💖

It’s a wonderfully colourful 8 page cover story written by Jean-Christophe Camuset showcasing the contemporary Scottish design industry, the community, tradition and future of independent design. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

IDEA’S TO CHANGE EVERYTHING - SCOTLAND, LAND OF DESIGN AND CREATION

LIBERATED COLOUR

‘Among the talent spotted, she is the only one born in Scotland. “I grew up in Cumbernauld, a post-industrial town northeast of Glasgow. There is so much concrete, so that surely motivated my quest for colour,” confesses the designer that graduated in 2020, who decided to give the objects in her daily life a powerful chromatic remix. Each of her projects starts with the hand-drawn production of flat paint, patterns or ultra-saturated gradients, which she then takes back to the computer before applying them to plates, cushions, bags, phone cases marketed online. The textiles? She developed them taking inspiration from street-art and flyers from the region's electro scene. Her textiles? All created in Scotland. Her approach? The most eco-virtuous possible thanks to a local production that she controls from A to Z. Rachelinor has it all!’

‘Walls of inspiration - Plates from the "Liminal" collection, the patterns evoke the textures of painted urban facades. To create her prints, Rachel Elinor Toye is inspired by walls covered with successive layers of street art.’
