It may have passed you by… but the Football World Cup 2026 kicks off next week (11 June).

Whether you know the offside rule or prefer the egg-shaped ball, this is one of those moments that draws our small, fiercely proud country together.

We have the designs that can help you celebrate our achievement in qualifying and show your allegiance as we progress through the tournament.

We can transfer these to t-shirts as well as coasters and placemats to save your furniture from any celebratory spillage.

We have capacity now, have a look at our designs and show your support for the lion rampant!

Volunteering and Voluntary Sector Awards 2026

Tuesday saw the glittering Volunteering and Voluntary Sector Awards 2026 organised by Fife Voluntary Action and held this year at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes. Hosted by Original 106 presenters Dave and Vanessa, over thirty individuals and organisations with volunteering at their hearts were awarded with scrolls and stars to celebrate them and the sector.

Re-Employ was well represented at the awards with nominations in two categories – the Socially Enterprising Award for us as a charity organisation and in the Trustee/Board Member Award, in which our charity treasurer, trustee and volunteer Irene Donaldson was nominated.

To be nominated at all amongst all of Fife’s strong voluntary sector was hugely satisfying and a tremendous honour. Whilst we didn’t win in the Socially Enterprising Award, we’re more than delighted to say that Irene won in the Trustee/Board Member category.

Irene commented “Thank you everyone but I have not done this alone. Eileen Cunningham has been with me since the beginning, and I’ve had lots of help and support . BRAG gave us our first unit, furniture, help & support and great advice. The management and staff have always been a great help and support since we started -13 years ago. So many people who have volunteered with us along the way have also helped achieve this award and I thank and love every single one of you x ”.

The consummate salesperson, Irene also said “if you have need of embroidered or transferred workwear or leisurewear, remember Re-Employ as your social enterprise supplier of choice!”

A busy week in the Re-Employ workshop!

This week we’ve had a wide mix of orders– and as a small charity we’re very grateful!

Oliver’s Army is one of our long-standing clients and we’ve just completed an embroidery order for them using our in-house Tajima embroidery machine.

We’ve picked up this year’s custom t-shirt order for our local friends Rockore –if you can’t wait for yours, the Benarty Community Shop has a stock already.

We’ve also done some follow-up orders for other long-term clients – BRAG for whom we have branded some of our ever-popular outdoor jackets and Fame musical theatre, some additional t-shirts.

We have capacity now to fulfil your order - get in touch if we can quote for your personal or business needs. Friendly, local service guaranteed.

International Mental Health Awareness Week
This week (11th – 17th May) we celebrate International Mental Heath Awareness Week.

The theme this year is ‘Actions’. As a Disability Confident Leader, we are all about moving beyond just awareness to taking practical, daily steps to support mental health for ourselves, others, and in the workplace. After you’ve read our post, take another few minutes to do something for yourself:- Phone a friend- Have a moment of mindfulness- Head outside for a few moments- Be kind. There are loads of ways you can think and act more to support your own and others’mental health.

Remember this year’s theme: ACTIONS

Even if the only action you take is to click on this link: https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/our-work/public-engagement/mental-health-awareness-weekIt will be an action well taken. Loads of ideas. Loads of support.

We are here, too if you want to pop in for a moment of quiet or reflection…and endless cups of tea!

This week saw Re-Employ complete another short ‘Designed for You’ course. Our picture shows Amy, one of the participants, with Jan Orzeg-Wydra, Re-Employ’s design and product administrator, showing off her completion certificate. As well as being a member of the design team, Jan also acts as a tutor for participants on the course, demonstrating how design, artificial intelligence and creative talent can be put to use in a production setting. Amy and her course-mates went away with bespoke mugs and coasters ‘designed by them’. A trained employability keyworker also spoke about follow up support and advice available from other agencies such as BRAG, Fife Council and the DWP. As well as successfully completing the course and getting their certificates, everyone was able to tuck into a celebratory cake. We run these courses regularly, two hours a day for two weeks on Wednesdays. The next one starts on 20 May. If you’re aged 16 to 24, not employed and have a disability this course might help you develop your creative skills and enhance your confidence. There is no cost for the course.

When Re-Employ first opened its doors at Units 21–21A in the Crosshill Business Centre, it marked an important chapter in our journey. Those offices became a place where friendships were formed, partnerships strengthened, and many were supported on their path toward employment and independence. Over time, our growth and ambition demanded more flexible space.

The move to Unit 6 represents more than a change of address. It reflects our progress.

As Re-Employ’s services expanded and our impact across the community deepened, it became clear that a new environment was needed to match the organisation’s aspirations. Unit 6 offers a refreshed, fit-for-purpose space designed to better support staff, volunteers, and the people who rely on Re-Employ’s services. With improved layout, workflow & facilities, enhanced accessibility, and room for continued development the new premises provide the foundation for our next stages.

Transitions are rarely simple. Moving offices requires coordination, teamwork, and a shared commitment to continuity. Throughout the relocation process, the team ensured that services remained uninterrupted, maintaining the high standard of support that our customers expect.

Unit 6 marks evolution — a space that reflects Re-Employ’s values of opportunity, empowerment, and community focus. While Units 21–21A will always hold fond memories, our new office signals fresh energy and renewed purpose.

The relocation is not just about where Re-Employ works — it’s about how we continue to adapt and create pathways into employment for those who need it most.
