Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and looking forward to summer, if it ever starts!

April and May were good months with mainly bespoke wedding suit orders but not exactly the stampede I was imagining to book wedding suits after such a long time being closed!

June was very quiet though and I still think people are nervous to book or re-book weddings due to changes in restrictions easing dates etc. and people are still working at home so not needing the suits for work that they would normally have made.

But since I've had so few hirewear orders since re-opening and the delivery process has changed from my supplier due to Covid in a way that makes things more difficult I've decided to stop offering an in-store hirewear service but suits can still be booked online from my supplier's website, Cameron Ross, who will deliver them to your home. I am just going to concentrate on my bespoke wear offering from now on and may even do a little bit of re-branding to emphasise that focus.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well and coping with lockdown ok!?
It's been a while since I posted last as I haven't had anything to tell you until now! But yesterday's announcement has now given us a schedule and I'm really pleased about that.

I know it's going to take a while until all restrictions are eased but at least we can plan towards it now and I think it's great that we will be back to something closer to normal life in June.

I'm glad for all the people who have postponed weddings or want to start planning one and have been waiting all this time to know when it will be possible so that must be a relief now that they can get on with their plans and look forward to the future.

So Monday 12th April is the date that shops are allowed to be open again and I'll be good and ready to get cracking with appointments by then. I don't know yet whether there will be a big rush to get wedding suits arranged, all enquiries so far this year have been for weddings from September onwards but that may well change now that we know the date of June 21st from which weddings will be allowed in greater numbers.

I'm also hoping there might be some demand for people who have been working at home for months in their comfies to splash out on some new clothes for the office or going to the pub once we're allowed out into the world again!

But we don't have to wait until the 12th April to start those things, I can help start the wedding suits planning process with you or get samples of fabrics sent to you for any suits or jackets etc before we can meet in the shop to check which way your lockdown dimensions have gone! ;-) Just give me a shout if you have some ideas already and we can hit the ground running come April.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well.

I thought I'd better give you an update to let you know that I made it to Spain without incident! I got my negative Covid PCR test result back at 9pm the night before I was due on the ferry which is now a requirement to get into Spain and that was a massive relief having spent the week clearing out my flat! I had a nice 8 hour drive to my overnight stop due to the national night time curfew here then carried on the next day for a couple more hours to my final destination and now I'm decompressing after a stressful few months! 😁😎

It's lovely to be here at long last but will try not to rub it in how nice the weather is for December! ;-)

I do have my face masks with me and have been posting those out to the UK and North America but if you do want any of my Christmas masks it's probably easier for you to buy them from the shop in Hartley Wintney called Mimi, you can also get them from their website, it would take at least a week to get them if I sent them from Spain now.

If you want any of my other masks that are not for Christmas then please order those from my own website and I'll keep posting them out.

Hi Everyone,
My trials and tribulations trying to get to Spain have continued and I didn't go on the 14th due to new restrictions introduced there for two weeks. Those restrictions have been extended for another two weeks but I'm still planning to get the ferry this Saturday as it is the last one before the winter sailing schedule and life would be a lot more difficult getting there if I don't!
So I'll be busy packing up this week getting ready to leave but I did manage to get my Christmas face masks made so if you would like any of those please can you order them from my website as soon as you can so I can deliver them to you or put them in the post before I go at the end of this week.

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update from me and my current situation!
Yesterday turned out to be a crazy day the likes of which I haven't had for many months, even pre-Covid.
But was due to a couple of boxes of suit, jacket and shirt orders arriving in the morning then a rush to get those all ready for people to collect in the afternoon before lockdown!

I only realised once I'd finished for the day that it was my last day of being open at the shop until possibly February!

I'm still going ahead with my move to Spain next Saturday 14th and since I'll be homeless in the UK from that point I won't be able to come back for a few days as per my pre-Covid plan as I won't be able to do the quarantine whilst that rule is in place. So depending how things go next year, I may get stuck in Spain!

There's no wedding orders here at the moment and not sure there will be early next year either so I think there is more opportunity for business in Spain over the winter than there is here in the UK.

But I am still continuing with my face masks, I just got a new batch today, mostly record label logo ones but also some of the popular Storks, Butterflies and Flowers ones.

If you want to place any orders I will either post those or deliver them to you up until me leaving and then I hope to be able to post them out from Spain too.

I do have a Christmas range that I'm working on, you can see those patterns here and I'll let you know when they are ready to order.
