In June, team Nova Active (Janis and Nauris) will set off at sunrise, standing at the starting line of the Race the Sun: Jurassic Coast Off Road, a challenge unlike any other. We will bike, hike, and paddle across a stunning but rugged course, racing against the sun itself. The course winds through the challenging terrain of the Jurassic Coast, known for its steep hills, rocky trails, and stunning views. But as we face each grueling mile, it won’t be just the physical challenge that drives us—it will be the cause we are racing for.
We are taking part in this incredible adventure not for glory, but to support Action Medical Research, a children’s charity that has spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people. This cause has become personal to them—knowing that their effort could help provide breakthroughs for rare and incurable diseases, reduce premature births, and support children who face a lifetime of challenges due to disabilities.
Pedaling hard, climbing steep hills, and pushing through exhaustion, we will be reminded at every turn why we are doing this. Each pedal stroke, each step, each paddle across the water will be a small victory not only for us but for the children we are helping.
