And that's my first ever memory blanket completed!
This one took a lot longer than anticipated. 😅
Turns out that listening to the tutorials (start off small, cut the clothes into the same sized square and use interfacing to make the material easier to sew) is probably important if you're wanting to be swift and efficient.
But I am stubborn. Different sized pieces are, in my opinion, more interesting to place and to look at. Interfacing, no matter how lightweight, can easily take away how snuggly the blanket is.
And in terms of the size of the blanket - go big or go home right? (This blanket is roughly 1.5m x1.7m)
Well worth the extra time put into this to make sure we got the most out of the different clothes and didn't lose any of the snuggle factor.
Swipe right to check out some of the process!
I've found it hard to carve away time to get through all the projects in my head. Does anyone else wish that there were just a few extra hours in the day? Bank holiday weekend has definitely helped me get on top of a few things.
One thing I haven't gotten on top of is my Etsy shop. This blanket (in a selection of different sizes from a lap blanket to a single sized one) as well as some cute 1st birthday tutus will be going up this week.
After this, I've got some lovely printed cotton material that's perfect for the sunshine we're starting to get, to have fun with so look out for those too!
And because I can't cope unless my 'to-do' list is jam packed, I've also got a special vintage style blouse underway!
