The collection is lovingly designed by Truly, from sketching an idea to pattern and sample development, garments are made piece by piece in Truly’s workroom and shop in Frome, Somerset. Some designs are limited edition and proudly produced in collaboration with small local sewing factories and eco-friendly printers. Truly sources the softest fabrics a

nd trimmings, all from UK suppliers and uses recycled cottons and ribbons where possible. Creating with comfort in mind, the style is vibrant, sentimental and imaginative- a mode destined to mix and match, and a look which celebrates colour. The whole range is ready to browse, try on and purchase from the Truly Sopel shop in Frome. It is here the collection is designed and showcased in this very exciting space which Truly describes as her “boudoir style boutique, where all my daydreams come to life”. Appointments welcome out of these hours.

The Lady’s Bo***ir – exciting news from my local museum in Frome! A brand new exhibition has just opened, and the permanent gallery has been freshly revamped. The Chemist room is particularly good too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! A few of my favourite (slightly random) pics are below.

‘The Lady’s Bo***ir’ conjures up an image of a private, glamorous space, where items of intimate apparel; knickers, corsets, petticoats, stockings, lotions and lingerie, ribbons and lace, potions and powders would be used by ladies of means to polish and perfect the ideal of beauty of the age. Of course, it was not always so – especially for the working woman of Frome.
