The Acura P*P 2.0 sketch from 2018 helped define the brand’s styling direction at that time. This sketch was later translated almost directly into the Precision EV concept car, which showcased Acura’s design intentions at Pebble Beach in 2022.

Last week marked my final days at Honda. These past 9.5 years (and 12.5 in total) have been incredible, filled with exciting projects, unforgettable experiences, and, most importantly, amazing people. I feel particularly privileged to have been part of Honda, a brand truly unique in offering designers the chance to work across such a wide variety of projects. There is no other brand in the world that covers so many segments, from Kei-cars to supersports, and from mobility solutions to robotics and aerospace products. Honda provides designers with nearly unlimited opportunities.

Honda will always hold a special place in my heart. I will miss many things that were dear to me during my time here—most of all, the incredible people I worked with who supported me on this journey in studios around the world. I will always cherish the warm, home-like atmosphere that is uniquely Honda, found in each studio I had the pleasure of working in, even briefly: Roppongi, Harajuku, Wako, HMCT, and HRA. I will greatly miss the friends and colleagues I was fortunate to work with.

Dear colleagues and friends! As you might know, the legendary Tokyo Motor Show’s Automotive Designers’ Night that took place at the AXIS building has been discontinued. This sad news caught many people by total surprise.

So we thought that it would be an absolute crime not to meet up this year. Therefore, we decided that since the official designers’ night won’t happen, it’s essential to have an UNofficial one.

So here is the announcement: a very chilled and easy going meet up will take place at Hobgoblin Roppongi on the 25th of October. We will be there from 18.00. Please join and don’t forget to spread the word!
See you all there!!!

“The Acura Precision EV Concept will be our North Star as we move into an exciting electrified future, and you will see these design cues translate over to future production models.” –

When developing the styling direction for the new Acura electric design language we were extremely inspired by classic Italian powerboats. The feeling of speed, presence, and most importantly direct motion even while at rest were the key features that we tried to reflect in our concept. The powerful impulse from the rear towards the front combined with sensual surfacing, sleek cabin and elaborate details are the elements to define the Precision Crafted Performance philosophy of the brand.

The project for the new Acura styling direction kicked-off several years ago, and I was privileged to take part in the initial stage of concept creating and proposing my personal vision of which road should Acura design take. I am particularly satisfied that my vision has been appreciated and accepted as a base idea for the new chapter in Acura’s design language.

2022 throwback: Acura Precision EV Concept.

It is always a bit surprising and confusing to see your idea realized and acquire physical presence. A concept that only existed in your imagination and communicated to others via pencil and stylus suddenly starts to exist in real life. Magic!

The Acura Precision EV Concept has been fully developed and built by the LA Acura team and presented at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. However, the original idea has been kicked-off in Tokyo several years ago.
Thank you for trusting this direction and bringing the original proposal all the way to reality! Sick!
