AJR Designs Designer and Dressmaker based in Newton Mearns, Glasgow. Specialised in Bridal and occasional wear. AJR Designs is a dressmaking company run by Ailsa J Rendell.

I work in Glasgow, designing and making a wide variety of gowns, corsets, skirts and more. I specialise in Bridal wear, including Wedding Gowns, Bridesmaids, flower girls and mother of the Bride and Groom. I also create evening gowns, prom dresses and do most kinds of alterations.

I LOVE making Christening outfits. This beautiful little Romper and waistcoat was made from Mamma's wedding gown satin, using the buttons from her dress. The waistcoat fabric was the tartan used for their handfasting. Repurposing in such a special way and making an outfit for a very handsome little baby boy.

Another beautiful little Christening gown made from Mummy's wedding dress. This was a simple chiffon gown that had a rushed panel under the bust and a dipped hem. I recreated those features in baby Adeline's gown, making the rushed band narrower and keeping the dipped hem. Finished off with a Peter pan collar and cap sleeves. She was all smiles for us trying it on 🥰

Mother of the Bride outfit for Mhairi. Triple crepe trousers and tunic top. Top enhanced with shoulder detail finished off with pink pearls to add a subtle sparkle. Dipped hem and satin buttons on wrist to elevate the tunic whilst keeping it non fussy. An elegant outfit for this lovely Mum ❤️

I had the greatest pleasure of making these bridal sleeves for for her Wedding day. Using the actual fabric her dress was made from, plus some stretch lining, these fitted sleeves flare gently at the wrist to drape over the hand. Finished with some pearl buttons on the wrist.

I had the joy of turning another beautiful wedding gown into a Christening gown, waistcoat and hat for baby Charlie. A simple mikado dress with gorgeous pearls all down the back, so I replicated the vibe for Charlie and used the buttons on his waistcoat. A very smiley and handsome little chap!

Completely in love with the images of 's special day. Working with Kayleigh to create a romantic gown with nods to the Victorian venue and theme of their Italian wedding whilst ensuring the gown complimented her petite frame. A truly beautiful Bride! The gown was made up of a B***d Corset, gentil fit and flare skirt, a detachable over skirt and train and a neck scarf.
