Sometimes life feels like a sewing project gone wrong—you make one little mistake, pull the wrong thread, and suddenly you’re thinking, “Well… that escalated quickly!” 😂🧵 But the beautiful thing about both sewing and life is that a mistake doesn’t mean everything is ruined. You can fix a seam, change the pattern, and take another chance. Sometimes the unexpected changes even lead to something more beautiful than the original plan. ❤️

So if life isn’t going exactly the way you hoped, don’t give up. Learn from the mistakes, make the adjustments, and keep moving forward. It's lovely to have returning customers - and in this case there was a 10 year gap!
Now the 2 Sisters each have a keepsake bear made from clothing they wore as babies 💖

It's surprising how I meet new customers 😃 I just happened to be in Shepley's (my favourite café which is round the corner from my house)
The owner and I were talking about bears made from clothing when a couple on a nearby table overheard and told me that they were trying to find someone local who could make memory bears and cushions....

The result of our conversation was a very happy lady who had saved some special clothing and now has a bear and double-sided cushion in memory of her much loved and missed Brother😊

During my 12+ years of bear making using various fabric types, I was definitely not sure that well used muslin cloths would be suitable, or if I was up to the challenge of creating this special bear.

However, these were all my lovely customer had saved, and in fact her sweet little girl definitely didn't want to part with them!

Their reaction was heartwarming and overwhelming when 'Muzzy Bear' was collected x

Hope you're managing to keep cool in this heatwave!
Phew, it's too hot to be ironing interfacing onto my bear pieces, so taking a short break to pop a few pics of recent makes on here.

My order book is full until the end of August but I'm happy to reserve spaces for dates after then, so please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hello to all my friends, followers and lovely customers.

Thought I'd better pop on here after not posting anything for 6 weeks.
It seems the older you get, the faster the weeks fly by !

Hope you've been enjoying the lovely hot weather we've had recently.
You have been keeping me busy in my cool sewing room with multiple bear orders for which I am very grateful.

These were for my lovely returning customer Rachael - in memory of her Dad 💙

Made from the clothes of a much loved Dad, Grandad using a cute 'Tilda' pattern.

My customer requested smaller bears and a dog rather than my signature bear.
They are too small to have embroidery stitched on to them so I made little luggage tags to attach to each one.

Very fiddly to make as the tiny pieces are difficult to turn inside out (with my arthritic thumbs😏)

Each one is different so I hope each recipient was happy with the one they received 🤗

After having lost my two beloved rescue dogs (Sanchia and Hannah) in January and June of 2013, I have finally just plucked up courage (13 years later) to bring their beds down from my loft and attempt to make 2 dogs in their memory 💕

As any pet lover will know, the grieving process can be a very long journey, and I've been honoured over the years to have been commissioned to create memories for other people whose pets have passed away 🌈

A lovely couple came to me with 3 of their beloved Meg's blankets.
Sadly their elderly Jack Russell had passed away recently.

I was able to use both sides of 2 of the blankets to add texture and shading, and also include some special buttons and the decorative poppy that Meg used to wear.
I also gave the bear a dog safety nose rather than my usual teddy one.

My customers were delighted when they came to collect their keepsake and I was really touched when they messaged me later to say that it felt as if they were bringing Meg back home again 😔
