Pics from the monthly (on this day Ramadan) litter pick at Jamia Masjid Ghousia Rhodes Street in today (Sunday) 02/03. Reminder again that we need the whole HX1 community to be involved 🙏🏽.

Insha'allah this is a regular initiative we're doing every month 🤲🏽. I naturally IMPLORE all my local brothers from HX1 to get involved إن شاء الله 🙏🏽.

It goes without saying there are countless blessings for cleanliness mentioned in the sunnah. And as sad as this is to say there are none Muslims who actively look for litter picking initiatives and come from far and wide to participate in a MASJID initiative. On many occasions they in fact OUTNUMBER Muslims in a MASJID initiative 🤦🏽‍♂️. And a message to all those that drive past and beep their horns and/or give us complements. Whilst that's appreciated, what's really needed is for you guys to contribute 👍🏽😬. Absolute minimum SHARE these posts and posters 🙏🏽. Support and well wishes without any action does nothing.

We need to be taking the lead and showing local pride far more and improving the reputation of the Muslim 🙏🏽🤲🏽. Do share the post and increase awareness 🙏🏽🙏🏽.

Alhamdulillah, no let up the next monthly and Ramadan litter pick will take place at at Jamia Masjid Ghousia Rhodes Street on Sunday 01/03/2026. PLEASE be sure to attend and spread this poster far and wide 🙏🏽🙏🏽. SISTERS and brothers are BOTH welcome 👍🏽.

And just emphasise the Islamic credentials:
- Cleanliness is half of faith
- Removing obstacles from the road is classed as a charity Islamically and therefore of great benefit to us spiritually
- We are the caretakers of this world and creation. We should think of it as a disrespect to Allah that we are not doing our best to ensure that his creation isn't polluted as the sweet wrappers, plastic bottles are finding their way into our streams. Our soil and it's broken down micro plastics in our food 🤮
- If nothing else just for the self respect of the Muslim and Pakistanis. There are a lot of bad stereotypes of the Muslim and we need to demonstrate that we are people of cleanliness

And a final point...... Some of the most consistent attendees are NON-MUSLIMS who sometimes even come from neighbouring towns to come to a MASJID initiative!! The irony shouldn't be lost here.... We need to have some local pride and take ownership of our local area 🙏🏽🙏🏽😒😒.
