Meet Eileen 💚

Eileen joined LAMH in 2023 and quickly became a valued member of the team. She says volunteering at LAMH “was meant to be” 😊 and loves the sense of camaraderie that comes from being part of such a supportive group.

Some of her favourite memories include everything from bowling trips and days out at Ben Lomond to the way everyone pulled together after the shop flood. That team spirit is what makes LAMH so special.

Known as the Queen of Halloween and festivities, Eileen brings fun, creativity and enthusiasm to every celebration. 🎃✨

Her hidden talent is particularly impressive. She can write the same word backwards with her left hand while writing it forwards with her right hand at the same time, and she’s also skilled at mirror writing! 😄

Meet Louise 💚

Louise has been part of the LAMH family for over 9 years. During her time with us, one of the things she has enjoyed most is meeting new people and building connections with volunteers, staff and customers.

One of her funniest memories happened while working behind the till. As she went to sit down, the chair decided it had other plans and rolled away from her! 💺😄

We’re so grateful for Louise’s dedication, warmth and sense of humour. Thank you for everything you do, Louise! 🌟💙

Meet John C ⭐

John volunteers at LAMH because he wants to make a difference, helping to support the charity and the people who benefit from its services. His positive attitude and willingness to get involved make him a valued member of the team.

One of John’s favourite memories is the team’s trip to Edinburgh, a day filled with fun, laughter and great company. It’s moments like these that highlight the strong friendships and sense of community built through volunteering.

Away from the shop, John is a huge Star Wars fan, always ready to chat about a galaxy far, far away. Whether he’s helping out in the shop or sharing his enthusiasm for his favourite films, John brings plenty of personality to the team.

Meet Ann 👋

Ann joined LAMH in 2024 and quickly became a valued member of the team. She says one of the things she loves most about volunteering is working alongside the staff, helping create the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes LAMH such a special place.

Her favourite memories are the days away and outings together, enjoying time with the team beyond the shop. Ann describes herself simply as unique, a quality that shines through in her warm personality and positive outlook.

If you’ve ever admired the jewellery displays, there’s a good chance Ann has had a hand in them. She particularly enjoys pricing jewellery, bringing care and attention to every piece.

Meet Diane 👋

Diane has been a valued member of the LAMH volunteer team since 2018. Volunteering has helped her build confidence, meet new people, and get out into the community, making a positive difference both for herself and those around her.

One of Diane’s favourite things about volunteering is discovering items in the shop that spark memories of her childhood, bringing back stories and moments from years gone by. Outside of LAMH, she loves to travel and enjoys exploring new places whenever she gets the chance.

Those who know Diane describe her as incredibly loyal and a natural problem solver, always willing to lend a hand and support others. Her kindness, dedication, and friendly nature make her a much-loved part of the team.

⭐️ Meet Olly ⭐️

Olly has been a valued member of the LAMH volunteer team since September 2014. He enjoys working alongside fellow volunteers and staff, describing LAMH as a great place to work and connect with others.

Known for his sense of humour, Olly loves chatting with people, sharing a joke, and bringing plenty of laughter to the team. He enjoys helping others and takes pride in being part of a supportive community where everyone looks out for one another.

Recently, Olly has been facing some health challenges and has been unable to be with us. He is greatly missed by everyone at LAMH, and we would like to take this opportunity during Volunteers’ Week to send our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. We look forward to seeing his familiar smile and hearing his jokes again soon.

Darren has been a valued part of the LAMH volunteer team since around 2016. He enjoys being part of a supportive team and says some of his best memories come from the many events, activities and occasions where everyone comes together.

Known for his sociable nature and positive attitude, Darren enjoys meeting people, having a laugh and helping create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. His friendly personality and team spirit make him an important part of the LAMH community.

💚 Meet Mary Ann! 💚

Mary Ann has been volunteering with LAMH since 2016 and says it’s a great place to work alongside friendly, supportive people.

One of her proudest achievements has been growing in confidence. When she first joined the shop, she describes herself as shy and quiet, but volunteering has helped her come out of her shell and develop new confidence over the years.

Mary Ann is rarely seen without her favourite wee black hat, which always makes her feel happy! She also admits to being a proud chocoholic and loves football.

Thank you, Mary Ann, for your dedication, positivity, and nearly a decade of support. We’re delighted to have you as part of the LAMH family. 🌟
