Lou’s New & Preloved Boutique is set up in a private studio in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, selling pre-owned women’s clothes and accessories that are great quality, versatile and stylish. From high-end high-street retailers, boutique labels and designer brands, the preloved clothes are in excellent condition, barely worn and in some instances,

new with tags. All are sold at favourable preloved prices, so you can pick up some absolute bargains! We are increasingly conscious of our impact on our planet. By buying and selling secondhand clothes you are taking steps to shop more sustainably - keeping items in circulation and out of landfill. And with preloved stock arriving every week, there’s an ever-changing range of styles in sizes 8-18. As these are “one-off” pieces, you’ll be sure to find unique items just for you! You will also discover a selection of new Italian leather crossbody and clutch handbags in a range of colours and styles to complement your outfits alongside the “Jump-set” from weartwo, a 2-piece combination designed to be worn as a set (like a jumpsuit) or to mix and match with your other wardrobe items. If you wondered what I’d been up to during August whilst The Preloved Boutique was closed… ✈️☀️

I’ve been making the most of my summer break - spending time with family in stunning Montenegro before heading to the French Alps for lots of exploring (& refuelling too!).

But now I’m back, and I’m ready to get the boutique ready for a new season. 🍂

September always feels like a natural time for a wardrobe refresh… so if you have beautiful pieces you no longer wear or love, why not sell them on to someone who can love them again. I’ll be sharing more about what I’m looking for over the next couple of weeks.

And there are some lovely things happening at the boutique this autumn too… including something special with Ali Suss-Francksen/Personal Stylist on 23rd September. ✨

And that’s a wrap for spring/summer!

Thank you for making the first half of 2026 such a special one 💚

From workshops and fashion shows to pop-up shops, styling appointments, boutique open days and so many wonderful chats in the boutique, it’s been a real joy to spend time with so many of you.

Thank you too if you’ve recommended The Preloved Boutique to a friend, brought someone along to an event or trusted me to sell your clothes. Every introduction and every recommendation really does help my business grow, and I never take that support for granted.

I’m taking a little break during August to recharge, gather fresh inspiration and spend some time with family and friends.

I’ll be back in September with lots of exciting plans, new collaborations and, of course, beautiful preloved finds for autumn.

What to wear in this heat? 🥵🔥It’s going to hot-hot-hot this week so you’ll want pieces that are cool, comfortable and still stylish!

I’ve pulled together 6 preloved outfit ideas that would work for everything from coffee with friends and summer lunches to holidays and evenings out.

My biggest tip? Choose natural fabrics (like linen, ramie & cotton), looser styles and don’t overcomplicate it. Sometimes the simplest outfits are the coolest – in every sense of the word! 👌😎
