Sometimes I feel under pressure to have a ā€˜perfect stashā€™. Then I remember my mission here isnā€™t to encourage you to have a perfect stash, itā€™s to help you fall in love with your sewing collection šŸ„°

Iā€™ve really enjoyed the Sew Sorted vlog tour this week! Itā€™s so inspiring to see inside real stashes and pick up new organising ideas. I have been impressed with how all the vloggers showed us their stash reality and shared things that werenā€™t working so well too. Itā€™s refreshing to see something imperfect šŸ˜

Ngl, this has been a difficult anniversary for meā€¦

Itā€™s been 3 years since I quit my job as a cancer research scientist to work on the small business that my husband and I created together šŸŽ‚

Despite often being asked (the somewhat loaded question) ā€œDo you regret leaving your jobā€, I can confidently say that, no, I do not regret my decision.

But anniversaries are always a time to reflect on your achievements. It can be difficult to measure the impact of the work youā€™ve put into your small business, and especially difficult when youā€™re constantly being reminded that you could have put those efforts into LITERAL cancer research šŸ”¬

Before we started our business, I was a new sewist full of enthusiasm, which quickly shifted to overwhelm. I couldnā€™t keep my sewing supplies organised, didnā€™t know what I had and found myself struggling to sew as a result. Thatā€™s why my incredible husband Doug created the first version of the sewing organiser app.

And it worked! The app helped me to get on top of my stash and reconnect with my supplies. I loved it so much, I convinced Doug that it could help other sewists too. So we launched Stash Hub and went all in.

Since then weā€™ve helped thousands of sewists overcome the same problems that I had. Thatā€™s impact. Those are lives weā€™ve changed and projects that have been sewn thanks to our little business šŸ„°

Weā€™re still on our mission to help sewists fall in love with their stashes. There are new updates to the app all the time and Iā€™m getting ready to host my free organising course Sew Sorted next month. Iā€™m really looking forward to getting to chat stashes with an incredible community - will you be there too?
