In 2002 OMEGA made a very limited set of Speedmaster watches and quite possibly the first ‘trilogy’ set made. Made to commemorate the release of the new self winding cal 3303.

It consists of a white gold, yellow gold and a rose gold Speedy all 3 were fitted with an enamel dial with the limited number out of 9…. Yes just 9 sets worldwide!

They also made a singular series of each watch with 99pcs made of each.

This set is the first I’ve seen from the 9 made. Each watch is fitted with a more luxurious cal 3320 featuring Geneva wave decoration, circular graining, rhodium plated surfaces, blued screws and a platinum rotor with a Speedmaster medallion matching the case.

A simply stunning set although unfortunately not for sale.

These two were property of the 2005 & 2017 Daytona 24hr winner Max Angelelli and formed part of his collection. Max was the co-founder of Wayne Taylor Racing until his retirement in 2017. A letter of provenance will be given upon sale confirming his ownership.

The 2003 OG Panda Mitsukoshi.

This is currently the only GENUINE Mitsukoshi on the market with correct box and docs.

A 300 piece limited edition for the Japanese department store Mitsukoshi, which is still there today Mitsukoshi Global

Each of the 300 pieces now have to be verified with OMEGA as replacement dials have been available and people modified standard Speedys to look like this. This particular one is a genuine example with cards stamped by Mitsukoshi and its correct wooden box

Another one heading off to a new home, this one is going to Honduras

The Japan Racing is one of my favourite Speedmasters. Released in 2004 in a non-numbered limited edition of 2004 pieces only for the Japanese market.

The Japan Racing was one of the watches I added early on in my collection, and it’s one I still own today.

After yesterday’s collection of the ST1, today see’s my ST2 ‘Ultraman’ leave the collection.

Another one I’ve never worn since day of purchase.

I have a few people messaging me asking why I never wore these watches. Well, through the years since release of the Speedy Tuesday watches, I’ve bought many of both, this allowed me to wear each for a short time whilst also allowing me to be able to save mine as unworn.

Do I regret not wearing mine? In short, no I don’t. It is however, time to let some go and be enjoyed by someone else.

Every collector’s journey is a different journey, when I started collecting at the back end of 2010 never did I think I would have amassed so many speedmasters, over the years I’ve let some go. I was one of the fortunate ones to start collecting when they were super low value for money.
