Not long to go now until I’m at Thread – A Festival of Textiles - this coming Friday 13th and Saturday 14th June.
I’ve been working really hard (and there’s still lots to do🫣) preparing for this event and can’t wait to share everything with you. I’ll be bringing some really beautiful vintage fabric, lots of which has not been listed online yet. A lot of my vintage fabrics were sourced from a European Fabric shop that closed and many of these fabrics were still on their original rolls in perfect condition - so some rare finds. In addition to vintage, I’ll also be bringing some unusual sustainably sourced contemporary pieces too. I’ll have a couple of tables with vintage trims & embellishments along with a wonderful selection of vintage and pre-loved buttons.
If you’ve never visited this fair before, I can highly recommend it. It’s one of the few events where very small businesses like mine can meet customers face-to-face and where you can browse, touch, feel and chat about fabrics. Take a look website for the exhibitor list as well as available workshops.
It’s a very well-organised & curated event and Farnham Maltings itself is like a warren with lots of rooms to explore textile treasures, you can easily spend the whole day there, with the café on site providing the perfect spot for lunch.
Farnham is also a lovely town with plenty of independent shops to explore, walkable from the venue. If you’re driving, there’s ample parking at the Farnham Maltings venue at reasonable rates.
So hopefully see some of you there, please do pop by and say hello, you’ll find me in my usual spot in the cellar.
