Role Description

This is a full-time for 3days a week + overtime, on-site role in our Stevenage for a Sales Assistant at Smarty Schoolwear Ltd. The Sales Assistant will assist customers in selecting school uniforms, provide excellent customer service, process sales transactions, maintain the store's tidiness, and ensure products are well-stocked and displayed. The role also involves communicating with customers to address their needs and assisting with inventory management. As a key member of the team, the Sales Assistant will play an integral role in ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
Sales experience and a basic understanding of retail-related processes
Solid organization skills to manage inventory and maintain store presentation
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous

Must be a UK National and18yrs+.

Role - Sales Administrator
Hours - 5days per week, 37.5hrs per week, Permanent + overtime
Salary - Competitive, dependent on experience,
Start Date - May 2025
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their needs.
- Answer product-related questions and provide information on clothing features, sizes, and availability.
- Ensure customers feel valued and supported throughout their shopping experience.
Sales.
- Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Merchandising & Stock Management:
- Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and visually appealing by maintaining product displays and arranging items according to store guidelines.
- Assist with receiving and processing stock deliveries, including unpacking and organizing products.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and inform the management team of low stock.
Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Handle cash, card payments, and returns efficiently and securely.
- Ensure accuracy in cash handling and register operations.
Store Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and stockroom.
- Ensure that clothing is well-presented and folded or hung according to store standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
- Knowledge of inventory management.
Personal Attributes:
- Friendly, approachable, and energetic.
- Positive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy retail periods.
Must be
- UK Nationals Only, (no students on Visas will be accepted, please do not apply)
- Full time role only.
- 18+, school and university leavers are welcome to apply.
- Have to work 2 Saturdays per month with a day off in the week.
