Part of Hawick's annual Common Riding traditions are now underway through the ancient custom of riding the marches and boundaries of the common land. This is the first of the Border Common Ridings and celebrates the capture of an English Flag in 1514 by the youth of Hawick at Hornshole. s today is National Tourist Appreciation Day - we would like to thank all our lovely visitors from near and far. Visitors find the history and heritage of the knitwear industry in Hawick fascinating, so we now share insights into our Mill's history through images and information cards. While part of our old Bentley Cotton 21 Gauge Knitting Frame makes a unique display rail.
And our Cashmere pieces prove to be an ever popular gift or souvenir, "so light and easy to pack" is the comment we hear so often....
