Wyedean Weaving is situated in the beautiful Bronte countryside of West Yorkshire where it has a long, historic and proud legacy of textile manufacture. With over 150 years of experience servicing and providing uniform accessories, it's our accoutrements that transform a suit into a uniform. As approved prime contractors to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, the British Police Forces and their counterparts throughout the world, our manufacturing scope is both broad and varied.
The Wyedean Weaving Company was originally established in 1964 as a manufacturer of braid and uniform accoutrement by David Wright. Norma, David's wife, has also been involved from the start of the company’s development, serving as secretary and now as Chairman. There has now been 4 generations of the Wright family working in the mill with three still actively involved. David's son Robin Wright is currently the managing director of the company since 1990 and is managing the diversification of the company Into online markets. Wyedean has a strong history of revolutionising its manufacturing processes and is illustrated by the use of synthetic versions of sash and ribbon which was approved and embraced in the 1990's to save money on the tax payer’s pocket. As the company grows more and more every year we recruit more staff and tender for more contracts within the Ministry of Defence. As the official supplier to the Ministry of Defence, we are able to ensure our products are manufactured to a high standard all our customers. Wyedean takes pride in their achievements, making their products visible in many films and TV programmes over the years such as The Mummy and Saving Private Ryan. Further to our film debut we also take pride in our Royal Family visits and in April 2014 The Wyedean Weaving Company celebrated 50 years in Haworth. In order to commemorate this monumental achievement Wyedean had a royal visit from HRH the Princess Royal in February 2015. Set in the historic countryside of Haworth, Wyedean has a long, historic and proud legacy in textile manufacture, stretching over 150 years of expertise in transforming a suit into a uniform with our bespoke design accoutrements. Approved by our prime contractors of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, the British Police Forces and their counterparts throughout the world, we have a broad and varied scope in our distribution and shipping. Wyedean Weaving is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 which ensures our quality standards are to a recognized level. We also have Investors in People certification and continually strive to improve our working practices and provide a service to the best of our abilities. Wyedean Weaving is an environmentally conscious Company and as such we acknowledge the potential environmental impact that the manufacturing and supply of braid and accoutrement may have on the environment. Furthering to our other new Ventures, Wyedean Stores is a new development to the Wyedean brand, making room for public sales of our bespoke uniform accessories.
