• TIME • Days spent preparing, visualising, calculating, winding, ruminating, tying many many knots, one heart beating, hands thinking, breathing in, breathing out, each motion with intention.

The weaving will come, one day soon. But for now it's time spent preparing.

Handwoven Cushions and Blankets in the making - of beautiful British rare breed sheepswool.

Crafted on our homemade loom in Kernow.

• LOCAL MILL • Last week I had the joy of visiting my local mill up Launceston way. It has been on the cards for years to hop on a mill tour, but when I saw the were arranging a Farmers & Designers Meet, I had to join the flock! 🐑

⚙️ It was fascinating to get a looky around the little mill that makes big things happen here in the westcountry, Beki gave is a terrific tour.

This is where the beautiful rare breed 100% undyed Cornish is processed that I have wove into my extra special range of Blanket Scarves.

Due to having far too much fun, I didn't get any snaps of the end of the evening, where we spent time getting to know each other and a little about our processes as farmers or designers (some both!)

I also shared a little about (my other hat) and the amazing work this charity does to conserve and promote traditional crafts in the UK. 🙌🏼

Fab to see some familiar faces and make new friends too.

Thank you for facilitating Liz and also to the amazing ladies who fed us too I think they were called at the

As a result, I do feel much more connected to the intricate web behind the scenes of the making.

• HILLBROW • It was last year that I got talking to a couple, a chance encounter whilst I was demonstrating on my little loom at Duchy of Cornwall. He, a retired traditional furniture maker.

They tasked me with making them a Blanket in these colours, teal and mossy green. A personal favourite. So I got to work sourcing the yarn. The original teal I used in pieces previously is now discontinued so I had to find it from elsewhere.

Many days were spent, planning, testing, getting it just so. Preparation is a big part of the weaving.

I don't normally plan quite like this, the process for me is normally much more organic, so it was a welcome challenge.

Now it has been collected I am delighted to share with you a piece, one of a kind that was many weeks in the making.

May I introduce the Hillbrow Blanket, I'm so happy to know it's out there in the world now.

• 5 YEARS • Today, five years ago a loom was born.

Not just any loom. My loom, with eight shafts and a flying shuttle. With hand carved blocks and spliced lines.

Designed and built way out west in Morvah in the shed of my sweetheart, a tall ship rigger, a loomsmith.

My Loom has evolved a little along the way, along with the honing of my craft.

It's not every day you meet a loomsmith, unless you're me that is. As I happen to live with this one!

Happy Birthday Loom!

• LIGHT • The sweet autumn just gone, an offering came my way.

I was over the moon when last November, my tiny batch Handwoven British Wool Interiors were selected to compliment the beautiful work crafted by , gorgeously set alongside the work of highly talented craftspeople, and .kinchin ceramics.

The scene set so beautifully in the most stunning location of and expertly captured by .by.lewis

The most welcome cosy scenes on a wild stormy eve!

This is just up the road from where I used play as a little girl, baking bread with one of my earliest friends. The dappled light bouncing around the kitchen really took me back.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to take part. Thank you Studio Haran. X

Here is a peep - aren't they stunning!?
