Of course they’ll grow out of it.... They grow out of everything 👶

But when you’re buying for your newborn baby, not everything has to be practical or last for years. Sometimes you’re choosing the little things you’ll want to remember from those first few weeks.

The tiny newborn clothes. Their first outfits. Their brand new name embroidered onto something that looking back, you can't believe ever fitted them. 🥹

Some things are going to be passed on, some handed down, but some belong in the baby memory box alongside the hospital bracelet, birth announcement, new baby cards and all those other pieces of the newborn stage you couldn’t quite bring yourself to part with 👀

Because yes, they might only wear their personalised baby cardigan for a few weeks.

But you will keep it forever 💛

This order came through for Darby just before we went away to Devon, so I quickly embroidered it and got it boxed up and posted to the customer 🥰

Except when it arrived, my lovely customer opened it and was a bit surprised..... it should have said Darla not Darby 😭 (We think autocorrect may have had a little something to do with that one…)

One of the benefits of shopping small is a real human will always be on hand to help.....My customer sent the cardigan back to me and I got to work the morning after I got home, and shipped it back that day.

Because even when it isn’t technically my mistake, if I can fix something for you, I will 💛

And THANK GOODNESS it was only the last two letters.... I'm very grateful 'Darby' wasn't actually called Penelope 😂

I promise I DO care that my children have shoes that fit when they go back to school 🥰

But I also knew we had time to sort it (well a couple of days anyway...)

We booked a last-minute trip to Devon, the weather was gorgeous, and I’d choose squeezing those extra summer days out with them, over getting the school uniform sorted early every time!

Also this rain is perfect school uniform sorting weather, we're not missing out on anything better!

P.S. I got everything we needed this long weekend from and - and yes I know I am very lucky the sizes we needed were available 🙏🏻

P.P.S. If anyone knows how to get yellow suncream stains out of white polo shirts, PLEASE share!! 😩

There’s a difference between being on Instagram and trying to build something through Instagram.

From the outside, I’m sat here on my phone. In reality, I’m squeezing in a bit of work wherever I can, trying to keep this little business moving (here it's from Haven while the kids are watching a show)

Because yes, I want it to help pay the bills, but I also want it to help pay for the extra ice cream and treats on holiday and all the little bits of life in between.

For some it’s a business. For some it’s a career. For some it’s an idea they’re only just brave enough to start trying.

It might look like “being on their phone”, but to that person it could be the thing they're trying desperately to make work.

And if there’s someone in their corner who understands that, takes it seriously and quietly roots for them… they will almost certainly appreciate them more than they know.
