You never regret a swim! Especially when you’re met with a rainbow whilst your drying off. Penzance is the land of rainbows to me as I’ve never seen so many in my life until I moved here! Winter is rain, peppered by glorious blasts of sunshine we race to make the most of and then rush to get changed before the rain comes once more. Every now and again we get a rainbow which every time feels magical 🌈 ✨ ###

There’s a great article by for about the rules that so many of us heard and believed when we first started winter swimming. Until we realised that some can stay in for ages and be fine and others for a just a short while and their circulation in their extremities is compromised.
There’s no rules. Know your body, listen to it, and don’t push it.

Cold water swimming for me isn’t about getting a cold buzz, or strengthening my immunity - it’s about maintaining my resilience to everyday challenges. If I regularly put myself out of my comfort zone, I’m reminding my brain that I’m the one in charge and it doesn’t have to be on full alert.
